Public Spaces and Green Areas Continue to Develop in Nura District

Efforts to create new public spaces and improve courtyards are ongoing in the Nura district of the capital. Since the district's establishment, more than 50 courtyards and around 15 parks have been developed, reports the official website of the Astana Akimat.

These new zones are being established near residential complexes, ensuring that places for walking and relaxation are easily accessible for residents.

An independent initiative focuses on developing parks funded by investors. Currently, seven such projects have been completed, with five more in the planning stages. Among them is the KazMunayGas Park, situated next to the open-air space museum.

The familiar urban environment for residents is also changing. Last year, the Central Park alley was renovated, and this year, improvements are concluding around the Capital Circus. Comprehensive upgrades are also in progress at the Astana Star monument, a recognizable symbol of the capital located at the city’s entrance from the international airport.

One notable district project is the Greenline alley. The first phase, from Anet Baba Street to Ayteke Bi Street, was completed in 2025. The second phase is currently underway. This involves enhancing and greening sections from Tole Bi Street to Anet Baba Street, as well as from Ayteke Bi Street to I. Omarov Street. The work is expected to conclude in October of this year.

Another project involves constructing an Eco Park near Lake Maly Taldykol. Construction has already begun.

Simultaneously, the district is becoming greener. Residents actively participate in greening efforts as part of the Taza Qazaqstan campaign.

In recent years, 24,500 trees and approximately 277,000 decorative and flowering shrubs have been planted in the district. The efforts continue this year, with plans to plant over 8,500 trees and more than 132,000 shrubs by the end of 2026.

Consequently, Nura is gradually increasing the number of places where residents can stroll, relax, and spend quality time close to home.

It should be noted that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev previously instructed that systematic work on the development of urban infrastructure, improvement, and greening of Astana should continue. Beautification projects are underway in all six districts of the capital. Over recent years, around 500 public and courtyard areas in Astana have been enhanced, reports ЖКХ24, citing the Astana Akimat's website.
