Temporary road closure on Olympiyskaya Street in Medeu District, Almaty for urgent repair work on a power cable line until September 18.
A temporary road closure on a section of Olympiyskaya Street in the Medeu District of Almaty will be in effect until September 18. This is due to the need for urgent repair work on a 220 kV power cable line.
The work is taking place near building No. 4A on Olympiyskaya Street. During this time, the section from Tyshkanbayeva Street to Baykonurskaya Street is closed.
The repairs are necessary due to damage to cable section No. 2363 of the 220 kV power line, which forces the power system to operate in an open-circuit mode, reducing the reliability of electricity supply in Almaty and the Almaty agglomeration.
To restore the regular layout, specialists from Alatau Zharyk Company JSC are conducting emergency repairs directly under the roadway. The work is being carried out 24/7 with all safety measures in place. After completion, the disrupted landscaping will be restored.
Residents and city visitors are advised to plan their routes in advance, considering the temporary traffic restrictions.
