Astana Electrician Aydyn Zeinetayev Shares His 18-Year Career Journey
Aydyn Zeinetayev, a 5th-grade electrician at Astana-REK JSC, reflects on his 18-year career in the energy sector as Kazakhstan celebrates Labor Day.

On the last Sunday of September, Kazakhstan celebrates Labor Day. In the lead-up to the holiday, professionals from various sectors who tirelessly contribute to the well-being of the city share insights about their professions. One such professional is Aydyn Zeinetayev, a 5th-grade electrician at Astana-REK JSC, who spoke about his 18-year career journey.
Aydyn Zeinetayev began his career in the energy sector in 2008. He currently works as a 5th-grade electrician responsible for the operation of distribution networks at Astana-REK JSC. "My job is very challenging but extremely important," he noted.
Working with electrical networks demands focus and a responsible approach to each task. According to Aydyn Zeinetayev, professional knowledge alone is not enough—personal qualities are equally crucial.
"First of all, you need willpower, responsibility, and honesty. Whatever task you undertake, you must be prepared for various situations; this is one of the most important qualities of a professional," he believes.
The nature of an electrician’s profession is such that the results are often taken for granted by city residents. The daily work is virtually unnoticed, yet the stability of electrical networks relies on the efforts of many people.
Teamwork holds a special place in the profession for electricians. Working in the energy sector demands cooperation, discipline, and confidence in the colleagues working alongside you.
"I am proud of my comrades and colleagues—people who maintain work discipline, work shoulder to shoulder, and always support each other," emphasized Aydyn Zeinetayev.
For him, Labor Day is primarily an opportunity to highlight the people whose daily work rarely takes the spotlight. While the city continues its usual rhythm, electricians continue to perform their duties, staying behind the scenes but providing what is indispensable to modern life.
