Third Eco-Hub Opens in Almaty

In the Zhetisu district of Almaty, the third Eco-Hub has been launched, bringing together youth under the principles of 'Taza Kazakhstan'. The hub was established with the support of the Department of Youth Policy, the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection, and the company 'Eco Almaty'. This space aims to promote the culture of waste separation and recycling, hold educational activities, and support youth environmental initiatives.

"Taza Kazakhstan is not a one-time event or confined to clean-up campaigns. Our goal is to instill the habit of responsible environmental behavior into daily life. The new Eco-Hub provides young people with the opportunity to implement ecological initiatives, offer new ideas, and make a real contribution to the cleanliness of our city. A clean city begins with systematic actions from each of us," stated Aziz Kazhdenbek, head of the Almaty's Department of Youth Policy.

The Eco-Hub features 10 specialized containers for separate waste collection. Residents and young people in the district can deposit recyclable materials such as plastic, aluminum, paper, and others.

This space will not only serve as a collection point for secondary raw materials. It will host workshops, meetings, eco-activism events, and other activities that bring together eco-activists and volunteers.

During the opening, participants were shown the process of recycling plastic waste using an eco-friendly truck. An exhibition of household and decorative items made from recycled materials was also presented.

Furthermore, as part of the ECO Network project, an open discussion took place with Yevgeny Mukhamedzhanov on the topic 'Taza Kazakhstan is not a one-day event'. Participants discussed issues of environmental responsibility, waste sorting culture, and youth participation in ecological projects.

So far, Almaty has hosted over 98 environmental activities, involving more than 18,000 people. More than 3,600 young Almaty residents have participated in major clean-up events.

The new Eco-Hub will become a permanent venue for ecological initiatives, educational events, and separate waste collection.
