Renovated Weekend Fair to Open in Kazakhfilm Microdistrict in Almaty
The renovated weekend fair in Kazakhfilm microdistrict, Almaty, opens on September 20 with 112 trading spots for local producers and farmers.

Residents of Almaty are invited to the opening of the renovated weekend fair, which will take place on September 20 in the Kazakhfilm microdistrict of Bostandyk District.
As part of the modernization efforts, the fair area has been updated and beautified. The total area covers 49 ares. The venue includes 112 trading spots: 100 in an open pavilion, 7 in a closed pavilion, and 5 in the food court area.
The revamped fair will operate in a modern format creating more comfortable conditions for shoppers, farmers, and local producers. The open space will continue hosting weekend fairs featuring agricultural producers, while the covered area will provide a permanent platform for domestic manufacturers to market their products.
The modernization was executed with private investments while maintaining the social orientation of the site. Existing trading spots will remain with the current participants of the fairs.
After opening, the administration of the communal market and oversight of recommended pricing will be managed by JSC "SPC Almaty."
Holding weekend fairs is one of the key tools for providing city residents with quality food products at accessible prices. Thanks to the direct involvement of farmers and domestic agricultural producers, products are sold without intermediaries.
Since the beginning of the year, almost 300 weekend fairs have been held in Almaty. These fairs showcased over 1,000 different products from farm and private enterprises in Almaty and Almaty Region. The range includes fresh meat, eggs, vegetables and fruits, dairy products, sausages, honey, and other goods.
Weekly attendance at the fairs is about 50,000 people.
