Traffic Pattern Change on Al-Farabi Avenue Near Esentai Mall in Almaty
Al-Farabi Avenue in Almaty sees new traffic changes near Esentai Mall to improve flow and safety.

In Almaty, changes are being implemented to the traffic management scheme on Al-Farabi Avenue around the Esentai Mall shopping center. The decision aims to improve the area's traffic capacity, ensure road safety, and eliminate erratic lane changes by vehicles.
According to the city's Traffic Management and Public Transport Department, previously, drivers exiting the shopping center could immediately switch to adjacent lanes. In practice, this led to numerous simultaneous maneuvers, with many vehicles attempting to occupy the far-left lane, creating additional conflict points and affecting the avenue's capacity.
To streamline traffic northwards from Ushkempir Street to the Esentai River, adjustments have been made to the traffic pattern, including the addition of solid lines that restrict immediate lane changes after exiting the mall's premises.
The new scheme will reduce the number of simultaneous lane changes and conflict points, distribute traffic flow across lanes more consistently, and enhance the section's capacity.
Drivers are urged to take note of the changes in traffic organization, comply with road signs and markings, and adhere to the Traffic Rules of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
