Wind Energy Production to Increase in Aktobe Region

New wind energy development projects are underway in Aktobe Region. Today, the region has inaugurated five wind power plants with a total installed capacity of 346 MW. In the coming years, there are plans to introduce an additional 400 MW of new capacity.

Among the operational facilities is the wind power plant owned by "Plenitude Kazakhstan," which has a capacity of 96 MW. The facility was commissioned in two phases.

The first phase of the project was completed in 2020, with the installation of 10 wind turbines and the creation of 15 jobs. In 2021, as part of the second phase, an additional 13 wind turbines were installed, creating 20 new jobs. Today, the facility operates a total of 23 wind turbines.

Currently, the total installed capacity of the five wind power plants in Aktobe Region is 346 MW.

These include:

– “Plenitude Kazakhstan” — 48 MW, 2020;

– “Plenitude Kazakhstan” — 48 MW, 2021;

– “Darmen Shuak” — 50 MW, 2026;

– “Next Green Energy” — 50 MW, 2026;

– “Khromtau-1” — 150 MW, 2026.

Furthermore, new projects with a combined capacity of 400 MW are planned in the wind energy sector of the region.

One of these is the third phase of the "Plenitude Kazakhstan" project, which aims to construct a 100 MW wind power plant in 2028.

Two additional projects — “Argest” and “Beta Wind” — are each designed to provide 100 MW and are scheduled to commence operations in December 2026. The “Zeta Wind” project will also deliver 100 MW, with its commissioning planned for 2027.

Upon completion of all planned projects, the total installed wind energy capacity in Aktobe Region will reach 746 MW.

Development of wind energy will enhance the region's energy potential, increase the share of renewable energy sources, and efficiently utilize natural resources for electricity production.
