Renewable Energy Projects in Abai Region Reach 159.7 MW Capacity

The Abai region is actively advancing in the field of renewable energy sources (RES), capitalizing on the area’s natural potential for wind and solar power.

Currently, the region hosts 8 renewable energy facilities with a combined installed capacity of 159.7 MW.

These include:

  • 7 wind farms totaling 129.7 MW;
  • 1 solar power plant with a capacity of 30 MW.

Wind energy holds a special place in the region's energy strategy. The largest facility is the 'Abai-1' wind farm, boasting a capacity of 100 MW and located in the Ayagoz district.

Additionally, wind energy sites such as ‘Vind Charsk,’ ‘WES-Charsk,’ ‘Charsk Wind,’ DES Consulting, Ventum Energy, and EastWindEnergy operate in the region.

Solar energy is represented by the 'Zhangiz Solar' power plant, which has a capacity of 30 MW and is situated in the Zharmen district.
