Astana Wraps Up Preparations for Heating Season with Ample Thermal Capacity Reserves

Astana is completing its preparations for the heating season, ensuring an ample reserve of thermal capacity. According to ЖКХ24, citing the official website of the Astana city administration, the capital is finalizing preparations for its existing heat supply facilities while simultaneously implementing projects for the modernization and construction of new heat sources.

Currently, the centralized heating system in the capital comprises five main energy sources: CHP-1, CHP-2, CHP-3, and the gas-fired thermal plants 'Turan' and 'South-East'.

The availability of reserves ensures the city can meet its needs during the upcoming heating period and create an additional buffer for increased demand. At the same time, Astana continues to enhance its thermal capacities in response to population growth and the city's active development.

Construction is ongoing on the coal section of CHP-3, along with the expansion and reconstruction of the CHP-2 water-heating boiler house, where boilers No. 7 and No. 8 are being installed.

One of the key new projects will be the 'Telmana' gas-fired thermal plant with a capacity of 620 Gcal/h, scheduled to come online this year. This new source will further bolster the city's thermal capacity reserves and enhance the reliability of its heat supply.

In summary, Astana is entering the heating season with the necessary reserve of thermal capacity while simultaneously building additional reserves for the future. This will ensure reliable heat supply for both existing developments and new areas of the capital as they expand.
